Visualisation and interaction go hand in hand when designing panels. Where straightforward hardwiring from power relay to buttons was once enough, nowadays yachts require far more. Aesthetics play a part when integrating 3rd party elements in a custom panel. Panel design, layout and dimming should include all elements and be adapted to the overall panel look-and-feel.
Although a lot of custom panels are still designed with foil sandwich technology, almost anything is possible.
Recently Radio Zeeland DMP introduced innovative glass panels with glass switch technology, enabling unheard of design possibilities.
The fully tailor-made glass panels are precisely shaped and colour tempered with ceramic ink. With capacitive switches, small electronic fields are generated through the glass. Selective disturbance of the electronic field results in the desired signal and effect. By means of integrated LED and light conductors, functions can be visualised as desired.
Whether a panel consists of glass, foil, metal or wood, our ultimate design goal is to create a custom panel, which blends in smoothly in the interior design in terms of shape, layout and colour, without loosing the possibilities of modern technology and ease of operation.
